Great insight Melanie, and great good realizing the errors of your previous ways. so many times I run into newbies that were in the position as you spinning their wheels in place not able to realize their mistakes.

You hit the nail on the head with testing and tweaking.

Keep up the great work and please don't hesitate if you have any questions or concerns.

Take care!

Thanks for the useful post. I can agree with what you say. It is hard for new beginners to build a list and get the right feel happening. I have a list I have been building for over a year(not too actively though) and it has maybe 200 on it. I have not made any money yet because I realized that I was doing it all wrong.

I have slapped in some of the generic affiliate emails that are given without personalizing anything, or giving any reviews, or even comparisons so my subscribers would be better informed and want to make a solid decision. Instead, they have just ignored many of my emails.

I started doing some tweaking and testing over the last couple months, and although there are still no sales, the open rates are getting much better!

I say keep trying, keep testing and tweaking, and above all else, treat your list like valued members and not just numbers or dollar signs. If you show you truly care about helping them and they can believe you, they will eventually start buying from your recommendations.

Some article sites allow you to have links with key phrases in your resource box while some do not. So it's best to have two versions ready.
