Kim BeckersI have over a decade of experience in online business creation. I bring a unique combination of experience and insight to the job, with local internet marketing skills as well as a deep understanding of the mechanics of business on and offline.

I have more than 5 years of experience in online business management and recently earned my certification as an Online Business Manager (OBM) through the Intentional Association of Online Business Managers and have been working with Tina Forsyth as my mentor/coach as well. I bring a unique combination of experience and insight to the job, with web & marketing insight as well as a deep understanding of the mechanics of business on and offline.

I started out as an employee of family owned accounting firm when I was 15, and kept the books for that business and others through college. In college, I turned a sharp eye for detail and a keen business sense toward math and computer science, graduating in the top of my class and taking my first position with a web firm as both their bookkeeper and their web support. In this position, I expanded her role to include setting up websites, design and marketing for the firm.

Eventually I brought these talents to bear on my own online, plus-size lingerie shop, MyPlusLingerie.com, which I designed and promoted from the ground up before selling it as a fully functional business and, based on the success of that website and similar endeavors, moving my focus onto consulting first as a Virtual Assistant and now as an Online Business Manager and Strategist.

I have been working at this capacity full-time since the start of MyPlusLingerie.com in 2006. My unique combination of intense attention to detail, comprehensive understanding of the small business dynamic and formal and informal success makes me an ideal member of any business’s  team because I can not only determine what is currently working for the business, but also what efforts may be falling short of the mark.

I see my own success as being tied directly to my clients’ level of success.

  • Blog/Content Management - Having created and sold my own “online” business I know and understand that content is king. It is essential to create a schedule for blog posts, article submissions, etc, I also like to automate where it makes sense and create spreadsheets to ensure that articles and blog posts are distributed to the proper channels in a timely and efficient manner on a regular schedule.
  • General Project Management – Before I started my official “online” career I worked at several commercial construction businesses, it was my job to ensure that things got done in an efficient and timely manner. I truly enjoy creating procedures and policies and and putting them into action to achieve a higher level of success in anything that I accomplish for myself or my clients.
  • Marketing Management – Because I come from an “internet marketing” background and really enjoy this niche and its ever changing evolution I bring a lot to the table with my understanding of the mechanics and what needs to get done while being able to focus on the
  • Online List Management -  I am very well versed in several popular autoresponder accounts like the the ones you mentioned 1ShoppingCart, InfusionSoft, Aweber as well as iContact, Constant and Contact, Mail Chimp and more. I understand what needs to get done and how to do it so I take the management of this off your plate.
  • Operations Management - I understand what needs to get done in order to make a business run smoothly, updating SOP’s(standard operating procedures) or creating them and make sure things get done efficiently and effectively.
  • Product Creation – Product creation is a fun and necessary part of business. I enjoy creating packages and offerings based on the need of the market.
  • Shopping Cart Management – I am very well versed in several popular shopping carts, the majority of people that I work with are using the 1Shopping Cart tool at this level.
  • Team Management – Through out my professional career I have been in a position to help manage and/or hire a team of people and colleagues to work with. From back in the day when I was helping to run the commercial construction businesses to my “online” career days where I have hired and managed people for my own team as well as my clients team. I have found that a project management tool such as Central Desktop or DeskAway, or BaseCamp, etc is essential to the success of running a virtual team.
  • Website Management – Through running my own websites as well as some of my clients websites I have had the pleasure and experience of hiring and working with web developers along the way. I understand how to communicate with them and set deadlines that they can achieve.
